Recipe for Christmas all Year long

    2009 - 12.26

Recipe for Christmas all year long

Take a heap of child-like wonder
    That opens up our eyes
To the unexpected gifts in life—
    Each day a sweet surprise.

    Mix in fond appreciation
    For the people whom we know;
    Like festive Christmas candles,
Each one has a special glow.

Add some giggles and some laughter,
    A dash of Christmas food,
(Amazing how a piece of pie
    Improves our attitude!)

    Stir it all with human kindness;
Wrap it up in love and peace,
    Decorate with optimism, and
    Our joy will never cease.

If we use this healthy recipe,
    We know we will remember
To be in the Christmas spirit,
    Even when it’s not December.

    T’was the night before Christmas

    2009 - 12.24

    A Microsoft Christmas Eve

‘Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house
Not a creature was stirring, except Papa’s mouse.
The computer was humming, the icons were hopping,
As Papa did last minute Internet shopping.

The stockings were hung by the modem with care
In hope that St. Nicholas would bring new software.
The children were nestled all snug in their beds,
While visions of computer games danced in their heads.

PageMaker for Billy, and Quicken for Dan,
And Carmen Sandiego for Pamela Ann.
The letters to Santa had been sent out by Mom,
    To santaclaus@toyshop.northpole.com

Which has now been re-routed to Washington State
Because Santa’s workshop has been bought by Bill Gates.
All the elves and reindeer have had to skedaddle
To flashy new quarters in suburban Seattle.

After centuries of a life that was simple and spare,
St. Nicholas is suddenly a new billionaire,
With a shiny red Porsche in the place of his sleigh,
And a house on Lake Washington that’s just down the way

From where Bill has his mansion. The old fellow preens
In black Gucci boots and red Calvin Klein jeans.
The elves have stock options and desks with a view,
Where they write computer code for Johnny and Sue.

No more dolls or tin soldiers or little toy drums
Will be under the tree, only compact disk ROMS
With the Microsoft label. So spin up your drive,
From now on Christmas runs only on Win95.

More rapid than eagles the competitors came,
And Bill whistled, and shouted, and called them by name.
“Now, ADOBE! Now, CLARIS! Now, INTUIT! too,
Now, APPLE! and NETSCAPE! you are all of you through,

It is Microsoft’s SANTA that the kids can’t resist,
It’s the ultimate software with a traditional twist
Recommended by no less than the jolly old elf,
And on the package, a picture of Santa himself.

Get ‘em young, keep ‘em long, is Microsoft’s scheme,
And a merger with Santa is a marketer’s dream.
To the top of the NASDAQ! to the top of the Dow!
Now dash away! dash away! dash away – wow!”

And Mama in her ‘kerchief and I in my cap,
Had just settled down for a long winter’s nap,
When out on the lawn there arose such a clatter,
The whir and the hum of our satellite platter,

As it turned toward that new Christmas star in the sky,
The SANTALITE owned by the Microsoft guy.
As I sprang from my bed and was turning around,
My computer turned on with a Jingle-Bells sound.

And there on the screen was a smiling Bill Gates
Next to jolly old Santa, two arm-in-arm mates.
And I heard them exclaim in a voice so bright,
Have a Microsoft Christmas, and to all a good night

Merry Christmas to all, Get a great sleep tonite,

    Tommorrow is Christmas woohoo alright!!

    Christmas Magic

    2009 - 12.24

Hello there, only 1 more sleep till xmas woohoo… Enjoy the christmas magic, young and old.

    Christmas Magic

Are we too grownup to feel a thrill
As we light the Christmas tree?
    Are we immune to cookies,
    Christmas cards and Christmas glee?

Are we too adult to “Ooh” and “Aah”
    At the Christmas candle’s glow?
    Are we blasé about our gifts;
    Do we shun the mistletoe?

Are we too mature for carols,
    For merry or for jolly?
Do the decorations leave us cold,
    The ornaments and holly?

Fat chance! We’ll never grow too old
    To love the Christmas magic.
    A year without a Christmas
    Would be boring, even tragic.

So bring it on! The candy canes,
    The feasting and good cheer;
    O Christmas, lovely Christmas,
You’re the highlight of the year!

Feng Shui tips to ensure a happy Xmas and successful new year

    2009 - 12.22
10 Feng Shui Tips To Ensure A Happy Xmas
    And Successful New Year!
Compliments of  Alisse Bradley the Prosperity Whisperer.

    1.    Be sure to surround yourself with a lot of the colour red coming up to Xmas including streamers and lanterns.

    2.    Clean and De-clutter your office space before the New Year!! Don’t forget that your home is as influential to your success as your office and if you work from home then this is a given. So look out for spaces like your garage, closets, clothes and shoes, kitchen cupboards, fridge and pantry, even your windows.

    3.    Cleanse all of your working spaces by opening the windows, cleaning with or burning essential oils, playing uplifting music, even smudging!!

    4.    Cleanse or replace any Chinese coins you have hanging including the front door and the wallet!!

    5.    Replace all of the red envelopes in your wallets, bill folders and diaries! Put fresh coins in the envelopes and replace for the New Year!

    6.    Set your 10 top Business Goals for 2010.

    7.    Purchase a new red candle to light on New Years Day so that you can carry out the ritual below!

    8.    Make sure that your home feels abundant coming in to the New Year!!

    9.    Create lovely aroma, play lots of music (all types), introduce some living plants and animals to your home if you do not have already have them!!

    10.    Take many moments to be grateful for all of the blessings you have in your life right now. As Dr Wayne Dyer shares with us “when you change the way you look at things that things you look at change.’

I hope you enjoyed these tips. 3 Sleeps till christmas……

What will you be doing on Christmas Day

    2009 - 12.21

    Hi Challengers,

My 30 Days of Christmas Posting is nearing it’s end. We are only 4 sleeps away from the big day now. wooohooooooo excited…

My family and my 2 sisters families, will be joining many other spirited christmas revellers at  a sunshine coast local waterfront resort for xmas lunch this year. Wow what a kool idea that was.

Although it makes this time of year much less hectic as we are not racing around food shopping, planning and deciding who will sleep where. It is kind of a letdown really, as the buildup to christmas is much more relaxed. Oh I think I can handle that.

So what will you be doing to celebrate christmas this year?

    Bye for now…

    Donna :)

    Dear Santa, from Mum…

    2009 - 12.19

    Dear Santa,

I’ve been a good mum all year. I’ve fed, cleaned and cuddled my children
on demand, visited the doctor’s office more than my doctor,
sold sixty-two cases of choc bars to raise money to plant a shade tree on
the school playground. I was hoping you could spread my list out
over several Christmases, since I had to write this letter with my  son’s
red crayon, on the back of a receipt in the laundry between
cycles, and who knows when I’ll find anymore free time in the next 18
    years.

    Here are my Christmas wishes:

I’d like a pair of legs that don’t ache (in any colour, except purple,
which I already have) and arms that don’t hurt or flap in the
breeze; but are strong enough to pull my screaming child out of the lolly
    aisle in the grocery store.

I’d also like a waist, since I lost mine somewhere in the seventh month
    of my last pregnancy.

If you’re hauling big ticket items this year I’d like fingerprint
resistant windows and a radio that only plays adult music; a television
    that doesn’t broadcast any programs containing talking animals;
and a refrigerator with a secret compartment behind the crisper where I
can hide to talk on the phone.

On the practical side, I could use a talking doll that says, “Yes, Mummy”
to boost my parental confidence, along with two kids who
don’t fight and three pairs of jeans that will zip all the way up without
    the use of power tools.

I could also use a recording of Tibetan monks chanting “Don’t eat in the
living room” and “Take your hands off your brother,”
because my voice seems to be just out of my children’s hearing range and
can only be heard by the dog.

If it’s too late to find any of these products, I’d settle for  enough
time to brush my teeth and comb my hair in the same morning, or
the luxury of eating food warmer than room temperature without it  being
    served in a Styrofoam container.

If you don’t mind, I could also use a few Christmas miracles to  brighten
the holiday season. Would it be too much trouble to declare
tomato sauce (even McDonalds for working Mum’s) a vegetable? It will
    clear my conscience immensely.

It would be helpful if you could coerce my children to help around the
house without demanding payment as if they were the bosses of an
    organized crime family.

Well, Santa, the buzzer on the dryer is ringing and my son saw  my feet
under the laundry door. I think he wants his crayon back.
Have a safe trip and remember to leave your wet boots by the door and
come in and dry off so you don’t catch cold.

Help yourself to cookies on the table but don’t eat too many or  leave
    crumbs on the carpet.

    Yours Always, MUM…!

P.S. one more thing…you can cancel all my requests if you can  keep my
children happy, healthy and always believing.

    Christmas Everyday Quote

    2009 - 12.18

    Hi all challengers,

just a quick quote for you. I believe Christmas is everyday.

“Christmas is forever, not for just one day, for loving, sharing, giving, are not to put away like bells and lights and tinsel, in some box upon a shelf. The good you do for others is good you do yourself…”

    - Norman Wesley Brooks
